Still Confused

Ok, I'm 20 from the US, wll be 21 when I get to Thailand, I asked how long I can stay and people said I can go to a neighboring country and get another tourist visa as many times as I like,

so what do I put on my number of entries on my visa application,

do I put my length of stay the total time I'm staying in Thailand or just the time until I make my next visa run,

and when they said I can get as many tourist visas as I want, does that mean I leave and get a whole other visa, as opposed to having one with mulitple entries that can be used more than once?

and do I need a plane ticket out of the country after the visa expires to show the embassy? how does this work if I'm not flying home after just a single tourist visa...I'm confused...

Can someone please explain the best way to stay 6 months and how to go about it as far as visas go (number of entries on application, etc.)

Thanks in advance,

George

You should be able to get a double entry Tourist Visa in USA.

Each entry is for 60 days and can be extended at Immigration in Thailand for a further 30 days.

When these expire you can always go to a neighboring country and get another Visa or just go over the border and come back again to get another 30 days.

you have 60 days on your sigle entry visa and you can extend that with 30 days at an immigration office in thailand.

iff you got a visa you don't need a ticket out off the country.

iff you only want to stay 6 months you can do 3 border runs after your visa expire, but you can only do 3 in one year and i think you need a ticket out off the country when you do the border runs without a visa.

or you can go to laos to get a new tourist visa they are very easy to get there at the moment, but you can try an other country to.

iff i was you, i would get a new visa in laos. more easy and only have to go out off the country one time and it's a very nice place there to.

iff you only want to stay 6 months you can do 3 border runs after your visa expire, but you can only do 3 in one year and i think you need a ticket out off the country when you do the border runs without a visa.

You can make as many Visa Exempt border runs as you like.

The rule is a total of 90 days in a 6 month period.

never been to america but im sat with a amercan and you might as well get a 1 year multi entry visa from thai embassy cost 150 dollars good for 90 days a time, then just do a border run which you can find out more about when here, part of the fun!

now this will be more than you need but save a lot of messing around and im sure after your 6 months you maybe want to stay a little extra!

oh and :o
