Crime Stolen Motorcycles Seized Before Border Smuggling

Authorities in Bang Bua Thong district, Nonthaburi have seized 18 stolen motorcycles from a suspected trafficking operation intended to smuggle the vehicles to a neighbouring country. One Myanmar national was arrested at the scene and is now under investigation. The operation was led by local administrative officials in coordination with officers from Bang Bua Thong Police Station. Acting on a tip-off, the team inspected a suspicious rental property located in Moo 9, Lahan subdistrict, Bang Bua Thong district, where numerous motorcycles had reportedly been seen. The raid was conducted under the direction of Mr. Kiattisak Trongsiri, Governor of Nonthaburi, who assigned Mr. Chun Natthadet Kangsukol, a provincial official, to oversee the investigation. The case was part of the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing crackdown on illegal activity under the “No Drugs, No Dealers” campaign. The search, initiated after village headman Mr. Natthaphon Boonmak surveyed the area, revealed a house with no official address in Soi Lek Dee where the stolen motorcycles were discovered. Officers confirmed that all 18 vehicles had been reported stolen. A suspect, identified as Mr. Jay Le, a Myanmar national, was found at the property and taken into custody. During initial questioning, he admitted to being paid to guard the motorcycles for his younger brother, who is allegedly based in Sangkhla Buri district, Kanchanaburi province. The motorcycles were reportedly awaiting transport to a neighbouring country. Mr. Jay Le has been charged with receiving stolen property and authorities are now working to identify and arrest other individuals connected to the smuggling ring. The focus is on seeking accountability for Cambodia's alleged initiation of the conflict, which lasted from 24th to 28th July. The skirmish resulted in the deaths of 14 Thai civilians and 15 soldiers, while over 200 individuals sustained injuries. The military confrontation also saw extensive property damage, with rockets and artillery shells from Cambodian forces hitting hospitals, schools, shops, and residences. Crime Teenager Shot Dead Outside Home in Roi Et

In a brutal and brazen attack in the early hours of the morning, a 14-year-old boy was shot dead outside his home in Buakham sub-district, Pho Chai district, Roi Et province. The assailants not only opened fire but also hurled homemade explosives at the property, leaving the local community in shock. Police from Pho Chai Police Station received a report of the shooting at around 02:00 on 5 August and rushed to the scene along with forensic officers, rescue workers and a duty doctor from Pho Chai Hospital. The boy was found lying on his back in a pool of blood in front of his house. Rescue workers performed CPR but were unable to revive him. He died at the scene from his injuries. An initial investigation revealed that around 15 shotgun pellets had penetrated the victim’s head and neck. Two homemade bombs were also discovered on the ground nearby and bullet marks were visible on the walls of the house. The body was transferred to Roi Et Hospital for a post-mortem examination. According to the victim’s mother, she had been sleeping inside the house when she was awoken by a loud explosion. Rushing outside, she found her son lying motionless in front of the house, covered in blood. In a panic, she screamed for help from relatives before contacting emergency services. She expressed deep anguish and confusion over the motive behind the attack, pleading with authorities to quickly bring the perpetrators to justice. The boy’s father described his son as a quiet child who typically came home from school before going out to play with friends. He said there had been no signs of any conflict or trouble that might have led to such a violent assault. However, he did mention that his son had recently asked for a protective amulet, a takrud blessed by the revered monk Luang Pu Pern, without explaining why. The boy’s grandmother added that her grandson was still being treated for depression and was taking medication. She, too, recalled the boy requesting the amulet before leaving the house. “I don’t know who could have done such a thing,” she said tearfully. “They came to our home and attacked him right in front of us. There’s no fear of the law anymore.” Police are now examining the evidence and reviewing CCTV footage in the area as they intensify their search for the attackers. The motive for the killing remains unknown. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward and help with the investigation as the community mourns the senseless loss of a young life.
