bill1960
I'm interested to hear from those with experience or opinions about the Toshiba Portege M600 13.3" Notebook I've been searching the web for 13.3" notebooks available in this region and the M600 looks like comparatively good bang for buck. I'm not a gamer but want a notebook in this size (13") that is light, has good internet connectivity options, and runs windows. Also needs to be able to handle the rigours of travelling. Some details: and a review....sort of http://www.hardwarezone.com/ourvoice/blog/...-Vista-Business Here in Cambodia they sell for $1400-1600 depending on specs so I assume they would be even cheaper in Thailand ? http://www.ptc-computer.co.cc/portege/ Portègè M600-E363-PPM60L-05M009 (W+F.P) US$1,599 CPU:CoreTM2 Duo 7250 2.0GHzHard Disk:160GBRAM:1GBDisplay:13.3"WXGA CSVCD:DVD+RWModem:56K-10/100VGA:up to 358MBPorts:FW/SD/BTWireless:802.11agnOS:Vista BusinessWeight:1,89Kg Ive found other brands with similar specs are more expensive, is there a catch ? , are Toshiba M600's rubbish ?, or is this a good deal ? wimpy
I've had one for about a year. I think it is a nice machine. Love the looks. It runs about 2 1/2 hours on battery. I have had a couple problems. I was using it in bed and a foul smell was emitted. I think maybe some of the ventilation got blocked. Anyway, a new mainboard was required. The front left corner of the case cracked for no reason. Both were repaired under the 3 year warranty. I dumped the Vista for XP and upped to 2 gigs of ram. Good display. The wireless is excellent.
