Been looking at Lexmark printer scanners does anyone out there know if you can refill the cartridges or do you have to buy original replacements.

Thanks for any help.

I have a Lexmark X4270 all in one, printer, copier, fax. I brought it to Thailand from the US and works fine. I've been refilling the cartridges in the US with no problem. I have yet the need to refill here in CM but I've seen in Pantip plaza several places that do refills. I don't think there will be a problem refilling them here.

I have a x5470 bought in Thailand....

In talking with local shops... many at both Pantip Plaza and Fortune Town IT said they'd be happy to refill my #32 and #33 cartridges for cheap... I think the originals run about 800 baht a piece...and aren't very easy to find...though Tesco Lotus, which sold the printer, still stocks them.

But..I bought some reman/refilled Lexmark cartridges online in the U.S., and when I tried to use them in my printer, it gave me an error message saying they are not originals...and about half were too dry or old to use... They've been a PAIN....

Dumped the lexmark, did a search about refill cartridge prices and the one who came out the most reasonable , i bought the printer to match. Hp.

For the lexmark ( cannot remember the type) i had to pay almost as much as a new printer just for the cartridges.

So that is why i decided to turn things around, what is it you need most ?? .....cartridges! Who is the most reasonable......buy that printer.

You can re fill them here in Thailand. I go to a little shop at the Big c cost 40baht.  If the cart starts to plug just dip nozzel end in bowl of warm water for a few sec and dab with soft cloth repeat two three times ink will flow nice again.  I have the x1270 all in one I only bought an extra set of cart's so I have re filled back ups, and that cost as much as the printer did.  If it sets to long I also have to clean them.  Big problem with lexmark is most won't work and are is (edit is not ) supported for use in linux.  I am looking at replacing it with a f2180 hp all in one.
