rewket
Any of you canadian married to a thai girl? Whne u get married (in canada) with one. Do they instantly get the citenzenship? the health priviledge? i was thinking of going back 6months to canada and getting married there but my girlfriend is pregnant and theres no way i want to pay the 6500$ that it cost to get a c-section. If u get married in thailand, do they get their canadian statut too?
mmushr00m
Simple answer to both questions = NO. The wife will still have to apply for Canadian PR status. Only after getting PR status will she be eligible for health insurance and only after 3 years can she apply for citizenship and a passport. If your wife gives birth in Canada, the child will be automatically eligible for Canadian citizenship, which means getting PR status for the mother will be ALOT easier. You can buy private health insurance to pick up part of the c-section bill or she can try giving birth the natural way.
