External Usb Dial Up Modem In A Mac

Featured Replies

Anyone out there purchase an iMac, install an external USB dial-up modem, and encounter problems connecting to Loxinfo? My modem seems to dial out properly, and get through to Loxinfo, but I never get to the "Verifying Username and Password" stage. Also, I tried sending a fax to someone, and the experience was similar. It seems that something is missing (maybe a setting) to make the experience complete and fulfilling!

Ive just bought the new iMac and the Apple external USB Modem ( Modem Part No.

MA034ZM/A ) and connect to the internet with a pre - paid True 30 day unlimited

card, straight from first switching on the new iMac , it connected no problem and so far has been fine. Brilliant Machine :o

I fixed my problem. It was embarrassing. In the jungle of lines and splitters emanating from my wall phone jack, I used an ADSL splitter where I should have used a regular phone line splitter!
