next month have to go to Laos too and just wondered which way was cheaper, go alone on train or bus or go with a company by van/coach.

Also a decent hotel for 1,000-1,500THB recommendation would be appreciated. Any where to go in the evening too as i'm not one for watching t.v. all night in my hotel room

I was pretty happy to stay indoors at night (UBC in the room and a very nice bed to sleep in). Ate across the corner at the Coca Suki place. You can venture out to the river

if you're looking for company (non p4p that is) .....
