Unwanted Windows Log-in Screen

Featured Replies

I'm running WinXp Pro, Sp2, OEM Legit Version from USA.

After recently installing a Windows Update, I'm suddenly getting a Windows Log-In screen, everytime I Boot.

I'm the Administrator and the only User on this Computer.

I've NEVER had this screen on this computer before !!!!

Why now??

How can I get rid of it??

It's a real pain and makes it necessary for me to remain at the computer when I boot it just to get past this screen so that the boot can complete.

HELP!!!! Please! :o

Thanks.. Mucho...

Any idea why this started to happen out of nowhere without any initialization by me?

Thanks again,

That is very weird, I have just had exactly the same problem on my main pc. I also use windows xp pro with sp 2

maybe some sort of problem with their latest update??

Microsoft probably calls it a feature. :o

I believe it's directly related to downloading the Microsoft .NET Framework off Windows Update...

I think you're right. Mine started showing a log in screen too. It's easy to fix so no problem.

NO.. can't be... I have the current update "Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1" waiting for download now...

It's been queued for a few days.. I wanted to deal with other issues like the Log-On problem BEFORE I downloaded it.

Coming Soon.. Hope The Log-On doesn't reappear.

There's also the .NET Framework 2.0, a separate version to 1.1 (they work side by side, no upgrade...so retarded), you may already have that one on your system...
