In December 2007 I gave my application for PR to the immigration. At that time I got an extension of stay in my passport until June 24. It was a stamp saying: "Extension of stay due to Thai residence considerations". Sine that time I have been for the Thai language test, which is described in another topic.

Now my question is: Have anyone else got a 2nd extension of stay in your passport (until end of 2008), without need to apply for a new visa seperately? I ask this, because I wonder I have got different message from 2 sources. One say that I need to apply for a new Non-Immigrant B visa, but another say I just have to get a new stamp in my passpor to extent my stay under PR consideration. Has anyone done this yet after apply?

Thanks man.

I applied for PR in December 2006, and have done all the necessary paperwork, interviews, Thai test etc.. I am still waiting for the result, as are other friends who applied at the same time . . . . . .

Since then I have six-monthly extensions from Room 301 with no problem at all. Nothing else required, it doesn't cost any money, just fill in the application and they stamp you another six months.

Wish they'd announce the list though.

Very surprised that they have not yet announced the results from 2006.!

how early can you go before the extension expires to renew it. Would 2 weeks be too much?

I'm also in the 2006 batch & am now on my 4th 6 monthly extension. The last one was extended almost a month before expiry so 2 weeks should be no problem.

Well, the people who applied in December 2005, heard the results in July 2007, so I guess we ought to hear fairly soon . . . .
