Two Questions

looked through many others posts but couldn't find similiar to my queries. Ok, l have a work permit attached to a Visa expiring 30/10/'08. l am 45 years old, after 30 Oct l wont have the option to renew my work permit. l wish to continue living in Thailand, have property investments here, and have no reason to go back to my homeland. So, what options do l have? l may consider moving to a nearby country if u have no solution to my staying in Thailand. What visa options r available in nearby countrys? Also, in 2 weeks l am visiting Cambodia, for a week, with a friend. What do l need to do so as to not lose my current work permit & visa? Appreciate all your knowledgable advise

It looks like 60 day Tourist Visas are your only option.

can you not go back your home country in october and get a 1 year visa, then you wouldnt need to move away from your investments etc?

Your post is not clear - you have a multi entry visa from a Consulate expiring 31/10/08 or you have a one year extension of stay from Immigration expiring on that date?

If a multi entry visa from Consulate you leave, re-entry and re-activate work permit after return.

If extension of stay you must obtain a re-entry permit prior to travel to keep your 31/10/08 date alive.

Currently a multi entry non immediate O visa from a Consulate like Hull is the best option for long term stay if you do not qualify by other means. You might consider education also. If you have high liquidity you could check the visa provisions of the Elite card. Tourist visas are also often used.
