Daily when examining the event viewer I see the following warning which I am uncertain about.

I run a laptop and desktop which are both web connected via a lan cable through my router

O/S is XP on both machines. The warning comes from the laptop event viewer

The Network Address Translator (NAT) was unable to request an operation of the kernel-mode translation module. This may indicate misconfiguration, insufficient resources, or an internal error. The data is the error code. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp

The desktop event viewer states:-

"The IP address lease xxxxxxxxx for the network card with network address xxxxxxxx has been denied by the DHCP server xxxxxxx."

Frankly, I haven't a clue what it's all about!

Both machines run perfectly but should I address these warnings and more to the point - how?

Thanks

I think it's a problem with the config of your router.

What Router is it and was the router in an package from your ISP (which one)?

Cheers.

TOT connection with D-Link wireless ADSL2+ router

Hope this is what you ask for - bit of a dummy with IT!

Look the red text.

And one more question: had you programmed the router or who done that joB? TOT?

Sorry, yes it was a package from my ISP and they indeed programmed it and set it all up for me.

The "package" is 500 baht per month unlimited - is this correct?

There we go!

The ISP's using preprogrammed Routers which allows you to use 1 computer at the time only. So, you need to re-program your router. For that I would suggest you go to some IT shop in your area which also sells router modem and let the re-program the router and all will be fine. May it cost THB 200 or so but than you don't have the headache.

To do it via this forum could be a quite long journey.

Cheers.

Thanks a lot for your help - I'll do just as you say.

p.s. what exactly does all the gobbledegook mean in my event warnings?

^ Short answer, the TOT router is set to only allow one 'address' to access it and pass through it. By reprogramming it the 2 systems can access the net.
