30 Day Entry - Proof Off Exit Required?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just want some clarification for my trip to Thailand. I will be arriving in Bangkok on 21st June and flying out on 22nd Aug. However, I will not be staying in Thailand for long as I will be traveling around Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. I will not exceed 30 days actually in Thailand, although my flights are more than 30 days apart. Getting a 60 day tourist visa is not really an option before leaving. I was hoping to go with out one and just use the 30 days permission to stay. But, do I need proof of leaving Bangkok before the 30 days expires. If so, I was thinking I could just buy a cheap flight leaving from Bangkok on say 19th July (although I would not actually use it). Is this a good idea? Any suggestions of the cheapest flights to anywhere from Bangkok? I am a British citizen. One source has told me that you have a 90 day period in which to use your 30 visa free days.

I hope this is clear.

Thanks.

The Airline from the UK may not let you fly if you do not have a Visa or a flight ticket out of Thailand within 30 days of arrival. Suggest you check with them

Have a look at http://www.airasia.com/site/th/en/home.jsp for a cheap flight somewhere.

The 30 day Visa Exempt rule is.

A maximum of 90 days in a 6 month period.

Be prepared to buy a ticket at airport if airline requires - there should not be any problem at Immigration in Thailand for a UK passport.

You can enter and use 30 day visa exempt as much as you like but are limited to not more than 90 days of use during a six month period so that will not be a concern for you. Unless you have used your quota in very recent previous trip.
