I am a British expat working in Malaysia.

I shall shortly be applying for a Thai Type O visa at the Thai Consulate in Kuala Lumphur for the purposes of getting a retirement visa in Thailand.

My question is : How long does it normally take to recieve the visa from submission of the necessary paperwork etc.

I need this info to book my filght to Thailand etc.

Any information much appreciated.

Just an added request does anyone know what the "O" stands for?

Submit in the morning and pick up next day afternoon.

O means "Other". Not Tourist or Business but Other Reasons. IE. Marriage , Visiting Child , Retirement etc.
