5 Month Stay In Thailand

Featured Replies

I'm doing a 5 month stint in Thailand coming this November (from Australia). While I'm over there me and my Thai fiance' are applying for a future spouse visa. What's the best way to go about this with visa's? I want to be able to stay for up to six months if the situation changes. Do I need to book a return ticket to Thailand BEFORE I apply for the appropriate visa? Cheers and thanks for anyones help in advance.

I would try Brisbane or Perth and try for a multi entry non immigrant O visa - that allows stays of 90 days for up to a bit over a year. With letter from intended expect that they can issue.

If for some reason unable to obtain get a two entry tourist visa - with extensions that will provide almost six months time.

You can always visit a nearby border to get an extra 30 days if required.

Do not believe there will be any ticket check for an Oz passport in Oz.

So how do I go about getting that? Where do I get the forms, what website can I visit? Would I be getting that through the Thai embassy in Austrlaia? Cheers.

I would try Brisbane or Perth

They are Royal Thai Consulates and should be in phone listings and a Google should provide contact instructions. They can provide the required forms.
