Will Beijing Consulate Issue 60 Day Tourist Visas?

Featured Replies

I'm going to be in Beijing. Rather than travel all the way to the U.S., will the Thai consulate in BEIJING issue a 2 entry, 60 day TOURIST VISA, (which I presume I can extend both times another 30 days)?

Also, is there a link/posting/thread somewhere that lists, consulate by consulate, what kinds of visas they are giving and how long they are for? And what is the closest consulate to Thailand where I can get the 60 day tourist visa?

thanks for all the great info here!

You will note a closed topic on first or second page that has current data as best we know - but there is no such complete list as it changes by minute and by individual (both Consular and applicant).

Expect Vientiane or Savannakhet is physically the closest Consulate (just across the Mekong River) but Vientiane is considered the better choice. Along the Malaysia border there are also two Consulates not very far inland and Penang is normally the better choice as it does not involve travel in the most southern provinces.

I would not have high hopes of a two entry in Beijing but if a clean passport it might happen. Currently Vientiane is about the only Consulate in the area that regularly issues them.
