I went to the Rasa Tower immigration center to do my 90 day reporting this afternoon, and to pay my 2000b fine for reporting late. My reporting date was June 1st. So i hand my passport to a young, and friendly staffer, and i tell him "i'm late for reporting". He flips through my passport and then declares ' you're not actually late' He explains to me that since i left the country in April

(a week holiday in Japan arrived back on April 19th) that my 90 days start over again from April 19th and that my new reporting date in July 19th. I was super happy to hear this, as i didn't have to throw away 2000b but at the same time, i was a little suspicious because i've never heard this rule before. Can someone give me confirmation on the rule???? Thanks

Arrival in Thailand is always day 1 of the 90 day address reporting requirement. You do not make reports when outside the country.
