Taiwan : Good Option For A Visa Run?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I need to leave for a visa run on the 28th this month.

I know i can go to Vientiane but i'd like to try something else.

So I'm thinking about going to Taiwan to get a single entry tourist visa.

Right now I'm on a double entry tourist visa issued in France which will expire completely on the 28th of June and I have a french passport.

Has anyone tried to get a tourist visa in Taiwan successfully lately?

Thanks,

Mat.

There is no Thai consulate in Taiwan. There's a trade office but the website says nothing about arranging visas. See this earlier thread.

It itssues Visas. I've done it twice. Just make sure you get the proper address.

Thailand Trade and Economic Office

No. 168, 12th Floor, Sung Chiang Road,

Chungshan District, Taipei 104

Make sure you are there in the morning, dress nicely, and be polite, and they won't ask any questions.

Do they grant 60-day TR ? Or double entry ?

Why don't you contact them. It may take a while to get an answer here.

Contact info is near bottom of this page. Visa info can ge gotten by clicking the "consular information" button on right side of page.

Just make sure that you have return ticket out of Thailand.

My friend (Canadian) just came back with a single entry tourist visa, however he had to call me from Taiwan to buy air ticket for him and fax a copy, as they insist of seeing a ticket, and fortunately they accepted the copy.

Good luck
