Help With A Possible Scam

Featured Replies

A few years ago a female friend of mine called me and asked me if i would marry a Nigerian guy here in Switzerland. I would be paid 10,000 swiss francs (about 5,000 quid). I told her no and didn't think any more of it. A few weeks later the guy in question (the cow had given him my number) called and I told him no. He kept calling me for a few days and i had to tell him that I would call the cops, before he stopped. I was actually frightend that she had given him my address and he may turn up and become violent or something.

I never heard from him again and I haven't seen her since either - but i did let word get out to other friends of mine to be very careful of her.

Friends like that who needs a enemy????

SCAM for sure!!

Similar scams are run in Oz, particularly for Filipina, getting them nursing jobs in Old peoples homes, while fleecing them and their family for everything they can. Stay away!

I just spoke to my g/f in bkk. She told me of a job offer that could be possible to work in the USA.

Here it is. She needs to take a Thai foot massage course, then fork over 50,000 baht, and also have a certificate of marriage. The lady said that she could arrange for her to be married.....

You need to find out where the scam originated - the "lady" or your "future intended".

"The Lady" is the one that mentioned it to her. This woman obviously is very savvy and used that to try and convince my gal to fork over her money...

Sorry to belabour the point, but I think you may have missed what I was getting at. And please don't take offense - I really am trying to help.

You said in your OP:

So you're in the USA, she's in Bkk, she says she wants 50,000 baht and there's a "threat" that she could marry some other guy.

So, does this "foot massage lady" exist, or is your g/f trying it on? Only you know whether your g/f is capable of such deception, and I sincerely hope she isn't. Good luck.
