June 21, 200818 yr Hope somebody can help. How much is the national park fee on Koh Samet? I have always thought is was 400 baht but I am told it is now 200 baht.
June 21, 200818 yr Hey LucyLui, It depends, last time i went about 2 years a go it was 400 baht but if you book an accomodation at the pier on the mainland you get a 'discount' of 200 baht [Thai people pay 40 baht] Edited June 21, 200818 yr by DaoDao
June 22, 200818 yr 200 bt, checked myself But I paid only BT40 as I have a local driving license. My friend hasn't one, but as she was with me, she managed to get the same ticket
June 22, 200818 yr Following the order of the chief of the National Parks Dept, Chalermsak Wanichsombat, on the 22 November 2007, the entry price for foreigners to Khao Laem Ya - Koh Samet National Park is 200 Baht. Alternatively, if you take a smallish bag, walk from the ferry to past the checkpoint and pay nothing. (Since they don't enforce any of the National Park regulations like no litter, no bungalow development, no jetskis, etc.)
June 24, 200818 yr Or take a speed boat directly to your hotel and they won't see you to collect the fee. Haven't paid anything in 4 years of going twice a year. Once ot twice I have seen a boat with a lot of farangs being unloaded at beach and rangers will come around and collect. TH
June 25, 200818 yr I'm a teacher and have always paid Thai price of 40 bht by flashing my ID card from school. Dont think they know what theyre looking at but I just say ajarn and they never quibble.
June 25, 200818 yr Get a speed boat direct to the beach - no need to pay. Park Rangers will patrol the popular beaches around midday on weekends.
