Advice And Suggestions Requested To Choose A New Phone

Featured Replies

My current Samsung X820 seems to be dying so I am probably going to replace it. I'd be very grateful for suggestions and input as I am not very savvy about phones.

Things I'd like/want:

-Decent (ish) screen size

-Dual SIM card support (with different providers)

-Reasonable battery life

-Small (ish) form factor

-WiFi and GPRS, 3G if possible, but only if it will work in Thailand (I don't believe this is available yet here. Correct?)

-Bluetooth

-Ability to easily sync with Mac address book and iCal etc

-Priced under 20,000 Baht (half that would be nice!)

Things I don't need/want:

-Multimedia capability, if it has it, fine, but they are not features that I will use, specifically I do not need something with ghetto-blaster type speakers or fancy schmancy music or video playback

-Camera, as above if it has one then fine, but I do not care how many gazillion pixels it has as I already have a decent camera. A 1.5 or 2 MP camera might be handy, but not a big deal

-Windows Mobile, I hate using that, if it runs on some version of Linux that will be a big plus, but not a deal breaker

-Clam-shell design, I always seem to break those things. Slide out keypad is fine

Any and all suggestions gratefully accepted and very much appreciated. TIA
