First Tv Yahoo Pipe

Featured Replies

I find RSS and aggregated feeds a great way to consolidate lists and content from the web - It's short, concise, lean (fast to download) and with good filtering capabilities. TV have RSS feeds, however there is one RSS feed per topic, and I find it a bit hard to get a quick overview of them.

Yahoo Pipes is a way to create and share your own aggregated/filtered feed and RSS views. Although a little bit "geeky' to create your own there are many pipes already existing, that can be used straight away.

I was searching for pipes for Thaivisa Forums but there seem to be none existing, so I created one for my own use, accessible for view from here:

http://tinyurl.com/62ay8y (Mods: If link cannot be listed here: Replacement text --> the pipe should be easily searchable from the Yahoo Pipes site by entering keyword "thaivisa").

The pipe combines 5 RSS feeds for my favourite topics on TV, and I've added a search/filtering capacity: 1. By Topic 2. By Keyword in Title 3. By Date range from. There's probably plenty of flaws with this one, but feel free to clone and extend it (or create on yourself)

I was hoping with this post that other TV forum "geeks" would also start creating other pipes for TV forum general use.

Why? Well the TV forum has grown to such a proportion with so much content and topics on here, so I think personalised and filtered views will be really helpful for many of us (if not all).
