T-shirt Alterations?

Featured Replies

My grandmother came from the states today and brought me about ten t-shirts. They all turned out to be too big for me; for the most part they're too long and I would like them to be tapered if possible.

How possible is it to have this done in Bangkok and how much would it cost?

Just do the opposite on the washing directions, should shrink them down.

I see these little shops form time to time with old Chinese women sowing away at garments and things, it would be a lot cheaper then taking it to some shopping mall or busy street. I have a lot of these little store front in memory, just forgot where they all are. I think they are always near universities as they always need there uniforms adjusted.

I doubt that trying to shrink them with a dryer, etc would work because they are mostly, if not all, pre-shrunk cotton.

Of course it's possible, any tailor shop would GLADLY alter them for you and shake your hand profusely, :o

Check with one of the many mom and pop shops, it may be a wash though, 50 - 100b for alteration as opposed to buying a new at a stall for under 100 b,

Regardless, don't do anything until you've washed and dried them several cycles, and yes, pre-shrunk cotton still continues to shrink but to a lesser degree.
