British Woman Sentenced in Germany Over Thai Drug Smuggling Case

A 24-year-old British woman has been handed a two-year suspended sentence by a Munich court for trafficking drugs from Thailand.

Cameron Bradford, from Stevenage, Hertfordshire, was arrested at Munich airport on 22 April while travelling from Bangkok to the UK. German customs officials discovered approximately 20 kilograms of marijuana hidden in her suitcase during a transit check.

In court, Bradford revealed she had worked as an escort for a man in the UK, Joseph Coleman, who threatened her and ordered her to travel to Thailand to collect an item on his behalf, after she had been robbed by a client. She described a distressing ordeal in which Coleman and two accomplices tied her to a chair, searched her home, and took £8,600 from her.

Bradford explained that Coleman, who usually took 60% of her earnings, accused her of setting up the robbery by one of her clients, started shouting at her and declaring she would no longer work for him. Fearing for her safety, she attempted to escape with her young son but was apprehended. Coleman allegedly told her the only way to resolve the situation was to go to Thailand.

She flew from the UK to Phuket on 11 April and then travelled to Bangkok, following instructions from Coleman. There, she was handed a locked suitcase in exchange for her own bag of clothes. Unaware of its contents, she claimed she did not know the suitcase contained drugs.

Judge Wilfried Dudek acknowledged Bradford’s troubled past, including an early pregnancy and associating with the wrong crowd. Although the judge found it unusual that Bradford had no suspicion about the suitcase’s contents, he accepted that she had acted under pressure.

Bradford expressed remorse, telling the court she had “never been so sorry in my life” and wished only to return to her parents and seven-year-old son to live a normal life.

The suspended sentence allows Bradford to avoid immediate imprisonment, but she remains under legal supervision. The case highlights the vulnerabilities faced by those coerced into criminal activities.

She's an escort, especially for pervy men who can only get an erection by being scared sh*tless by a woman who has had facial surgery to make herself butt-ugly.  It sounds as if she also had a lobotomy as well....

So what did she think was in the suitcases? Just somebody else's clothes? Would that be worth flying to the other side of the earth for? So stupidity is now a valid legal defense.

I, of course, 100% believe her story.

Yours ever so sincerely,

G. Ullible.

If she was black, the judge would have given her twenty years.

Holy cow...

Yes sir! This harsh punishment will certainly convince anybody tempted to haul large suitcases full of whatever that crime doesn't pay and their lives will be ruined.

I can understand how dedicated law enforcement officers must slap heir heads and ask: "WTF??"

I didn't really think that they did. It was a very weak story anyway.

It's weed, for Christ sake.  If there was ever a victimless crime, it's importing (even tons of) weed.

geting away so lightly some must thinking " its worth the risk" !

Germany man you can do everything , other countrys it is life or death here suspened sentence.

Even if you are smuggling TONS of coke , its probably 10 years , out in 6 years if behave as good boy

Just say you had bad childhood, father was punching you , took the wrong turn later in life,

Obviously the punishments are light, thus the risk-vs-reward is in their favor. Don't expect this to stop anytime soon, unless they change the law to reflect the amount of drugs being smuggled. They need to call Thailand and have them warn countries with better laws to stop them half way back.

Hopefully we can increase those numbers.

Drug dealers belong in jail, and off the streets, we need to start chaingangs again too, no more pampering criminals while in jail.
