How To Break Large Video File Into 2 Files?

Featured Replies

I have a large video file in avi format that I would like to split/divide into 2 smaller files so that I can then burn them onto 2 DVDs. Any suggestions for a dummy like me??

You might try doing a google search for "avi file splitter" or just "file splitter".

I use AVIsplit Classic, freeware available for download at http://www.bobyte.com/

VirtualDub. Set both video and audio to "direct stream copy" so it doesn't re-encode the movie, select parts you want and save as avi or as segemented avi.

OK, now I downloaded virtualdubmod and I think that I'm a bit over my head......definately not for dummies. I'll take a break and try again after a beer....

SolveigMM AVI Trimmer is freeware and very easy to use.

VirtualDub is however the most flexible and powerful software to use though. A little bit of a learning curve though. Try Solveig and let us know how you like it.

TB..

I can 2nd VirtualDub. There should be guides on Google on how to cut .avis with it. Once you know how, only takes a minute or so.
