At IT-Mall Fortune Tow, there is a shop for POS System on the 3. Floor, if you walk for the IT Section the way to the Hotel on the left side, where you can get PDA-Scanner, but mainly have to order. I forget the name of that company but sometimes the next 2 or 3 days I've to go there and will get the contact details for you.

Might try that, phazey. In the meantime I went to around 8 shops in Pantip Plaza, no one carried handheld scanners. One guy mentioned they're not so popular in Thailand since there is no OCR software for Thai, which is hard to believe if true. Will try Fortune next.
