Mmm, delicate one this,

how about Mad "Frankie" of Man City fame?

Not to be confused with the original "Mad Frankie" Fraser who despite his undeserved nickname is actually " a lovely falla" who did much for civil liberties in his own way in the uk.

Not exactly a Bank Robber but .....

Mae Chamoy was a woman who ran a huge Ponzi Scam many years ago (mid '80's I think), based on buying truckloads of Oil if I recall correctly.

She became so famous she had many very important and powerful Thais caught up in the scheme - to the very highest level.

When the scheme eventually crashed as these always do she disappeared for several weeks, allegedly under the control of some of the more powerful cheated clients who oversaw the liquidation of whatever assets she still had in order to recoup their investments.

When she re-appeared she was tried and sentenced to jail - I think she is free now.

Most of the notorious gangsters, mafiosi, and murderers of Thailand have usually been in the government at some stage or other.

There is a mummified body of a 1950's serial killer in Khunying Pornthep's Pathology Museum in Bkk. link
