Possible To Put An E6750 In An Old Lga775 Motherboard?

I have a question for the experts:

I wish to replace my E6750 by a Q9450.

What can I do with the old E6750?

I have an old computer case with an LGA775 motherboard and a Prescott 506 P4.

Would it make sense to put the E6750 in that old motherboard and reviving that old PC?

I know the FSB of the old board runs at 800MGhz whilst the E6750 runs at 1333 and the memory will not be up to par.

What else could I do with an E6750?

I don't think there is a second hand market for CPU's :o

Check with the manual and/or Website for the MB Manufacturer.

Cheers.

You could do a search for BIOS upgrades for the old motherboard and see if they've updated the list of compatible processors and/or see if there is a list of compatible processors on their web site with the corresponding BIOS number.

There's a good chance that your chipset will not support a Core2.
