Got a stray "Thai" kitty cat who adopted us. Only rule was, she got booted out at night to prevent pooping in the house ( slept all day from 8 am till midnight - so kinda logical she must poop at night.........

........ anyway, to get to the point..............

......... t'was a rainy wednesday morning, got in the car, turned on the engine, and started backing up. Heard her "meow", thought maybe she had belated realized we were up, and wanted to go in for breakfast. The Meow was rather loud and sounded kinda depserate....... thought Shti, i have run over her....... looked under the car, not there, but the meow was still continuing deperately......

... SHE'S IN THE BLOODY ENGINE BAY ............

turned off the engine, and opened the hood, and there she was on the right of the car, between the wheel well and the alternator drive belt ( about 1cm clearance ).

Got her out, and was limping.......... sped off to a local Vet. Lucky only got a toe damaged ( maybe in the belt ? ) bit bloody, but nothing broken.

did not eat or drink all day, and just stayed in one spot and slept ( so whats new :o ).

If you got a cat, knock 3 times on the hood of your car before starting it !

shes down to 9-1=8 lives now. Should re-name her "Lucky"

When i was a kid in scotland the cat always slept on a wheel and my dad used reve the engine to wake him up and jump off

Cats really get themselves into strange situations which is why we love them so much

Funny as the story the other day in the Post about the Koala who was hit by the front of the car and became wedged in the grill (unbeknownst by the driver) who was flagged down by another motorist. Amazingly, the litte fella was unhurt when removed from the car's front-end! It must have been a sight...a car speeding down the highway with a live koala sticking out the front-end :o
