Firearms Laws In Thailand

Tried searching the net for answers but found nothing, so hopefully someone out there with a bit of knowledge may be able to help?

We have a piece of land with our home on it, set back about 50 yards from the village road, the land is planted with trees and is obviously not government land.

Earlier, I heard a gunshot and looked out across to the road where I saw a smart 4 x 4 parked.

Next, the door opens and the passenger jumps out and climbs down the side of the road and runs about 30 metres onto our land. He appears to pick something off the ground and returns to the car.

The car then very slowly moves about another 30 metres down the road closer to the house - again another gunshot and the guy is out and running into our place again.

By this time I am out and on my way to see what is going on.

The guy has picked something up and is returning to the car, so I just yell at them to get out - anyway they sped off.

I guess they were shooting birds, but is there any thing in Thai law that would deal with these people - I kind of like birds, and when we bought the land there were none here, as the locals used to poach them.

Since we built the home here, we have many different birds living and nesting here, seems a shame they can't be left in peace.

Cheers

Have you considered an electric perimeter security fence?

Oh i forgot to say if you shot anyone then tell them they shot at you first, you will probably get away with it unless they are the police!
