Elections/alcohol Bans?

iam arriving in Patong on August 29th & looks like there are more elections & bars closing on that weekend? does anybody know if "Pa Khlok OrBorTor: Term ends July 24. Election day is August 31" is in the Patong area,

when i was in Patong last Feb.2008 both weekends i was there bars were closed, looks like i have timed it bad again,

Karon Municipality: Term ended May 1. Election day is June 8.

Kathu Municipality Term ends July 17. Election day is August 24.

Patong Municipality: Term ends June 19. Election day in July 27.

Pa Khlok OrBorTor: Term ends July 24. Election day is August 31.
