July 16, 200818 yr A project I'm working on requires the use of an Infra-Red blocking filter. These are used to make silicon imaging devices less sensitive to IR and therefore match the response of the human eye more closely. I need a filter about 25mm diameter, Hoya HA-30 or Schott KG-1. I can get them from the UK at 12 pounds a time, but the supplier wants 15 quid postage (no tracking) and 50 (yes FIFTY) quid if I want a tracking number, somewhat outside my meagre budget. Bright ideas anyone, they've got to be available from scientific glass suppliers but I'm drawing blanks with my usual contacts "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
