Will A Uk Wireless Router Work In Thailand?

Featured Replies

Hi

I would like to know if a wireless router bought in UK would work with ADSL connection in Thailand? If so, are there any import issues bringing a used router with me, for personal use, next time I visit Thailand?

Thanks for any input.

Why the router shouldn't work? No problem with that and even no problems to bting here.

Cheers.

The only likely problem is if the router is one of those BT specials with mangled firmware in which many of the settings are fixed to values used by BT.

Otherwise should be no problem at all :o

Been there done that! I brought my dads old Linksys wireless modem router from the UK last year. Plugged in here and works great on TT&T. No need to sweat about Customs, just bung it in your checked baggage.

Thank for your replies.

Seems ok then, its just that I asked a spotty little oik in PC World and he said it wouldn't, which put a doubt in my non-technical mind even though I am not sure how he would know either way.

The one I purchased in Thailand even had an UK plug on it I had to get an adaptor to us it
