Taxi drivers to get free English lessons at government fair

BANGKOK: -- Taxi drivers and other people working in the service sector will get an unexpected bonus if they visit the government’s performance fair tomorrow, with free English lessons from the nation’s most popular English television presenter – Andrew Biggs.

The lessons, which will be accompanied by free tapes and course books, are being provided by the Office of Non-Formal Education (ONFE) at the fair being held at the Muang Thong Thani Impact Convention Centre.

ONFE director Mr. Urit Boonmak said that his office would showcase three major achievements during the five-day fair – distance learning, education for the disabled and English language training for taxi drivers and service personnel.

Tomorrow’s English language classes are expected to attract at least 200 participants.
