Go The Budget Hotel In Bangkok!

Featured Replies

What's the cheapest hotel you've ever stayed at in Bangkok? How much per night and where is this said gem? Was it some dank, porno haven with mirrored walls, hourly rates and curtained off garages or actually not too bad?

Once you get away from Khao Sarn Road area, the cheapest places seem to all be around 1000 baht per night and aren't that great. For a super budget hotel, I quite like Krung Thai on Rang Nam near Victory Monument. 400 baht/night but have to say that even though it has the lovely mirrored walls and black curtained car spaces, it also has air con, pay tv, hot water, daily clean towels and is cleaned daily.

Tell us your secret budget gems :o

There are TONS of 200 baht and up guest houses all over Bangkok. Only hotels cost what you are claiming, but there are a number of rundown hotels with TV, swimming pools and aircon off of Sukumvit road.

I pass by Las Vegas Luxery Hotel on Sukhumvit 71 between Phetburi Rd and Rama 9 nearly everyday. It looks nice enough and the staff I see when I pass by seem to be in pretty sharp uniforms, the price is 490/night.

The worst hotel I ever stayed in was a budget place in KL. Can't remember the price but it was very low. There were holes poked in the walls from peeping toms and all. I turned around and walked out the door even tho I had already paid for the room. :o

Pretty sharp uniforms eh? Wow it must be great!

Miami hotel suhk 13 :o

Nice posts. Good to know these things...

I haven't stayed at any really cheap places in Bangkok, but i did stay at a 200 baht bungalow on Koh Chang and shared the room with 3 other guys (50 baht each :o )... It stank of piss, we had to sleep on the floor, rain was leaking through the ceiling and we got ravaged by mosquitoes (due to the massive wholes all over the walls). But if you drink enough you can still get a decent nights sleep!

Never been inside, but looks good from the outside. As far as the uniforms go, who really knows but if they care about the appearance of their staffs uniforms it may mean they care about the rest.

If you want to know for sure, you will have to go and check it out yourself.

My friend often stays there when in Bangkok. It's Ok. The room is quite small but clean. The only problem is the location. A little far from Skytrain and Sukhumvit Road and the traffic around Ramkhamhaeng Road can be quite heavy to say the least.

As you know Rue, we used to stay sometimes at Hotel 99, near Victory monument, mint green pleather up on the walls, carpeted half way up the wall too & lots of big mirrors, rooms can be rented by the hour across the road from the full night rooms, no curtained carports but discreetly tucked away parking for the discerning clientele :o Last time we stayed there ( a few years ago) was around 400 baht a night.

Pretty good room service (thai food) and cable tv. ok for a night or two max but couldn't hack longer than that.

Interesting to know these things...especially the green pleather..sounds divine :o:D Perhaps next time!

sbk, that place I talked of first used to have holes in the ceiling but I noticed last time I stayed they had plastered them all over and repainted. Perhaps attempting to become more upmarket!! Although the rooms have been painted lime green..what is it with the green! Very creepy.

It is called Nasa Vegas and yours truly is posting from that very location :o

rates went up recently, before the big room was 650, now it's 850. Still possibly the best deal in value for money terms in Bangkok - and I tried a bunch of hotels up and down Sukhumvit. Better rooms start at around 1500 Baht, below that no one was able to compete!

Dohhh, you are right... Nasa Vegas, not Las Vegas (although there are lots of nice cheap rooms available at Las Vegas as well, but the commute would be a b*tch)
