surface
After installing SP1 I'm having a few issues and would like to perform a fresh install of a slipstreamed Vista SP1 (Home Premium). The problem is the recovery disk does only makes an image of the existing install as far as I can tell, and I can't open the image files using WinRAR to inspect it any further. Has anyone been able to get the Vista installation files off of their laptop somehow or do I need to contact Acer? I'd rather not have to pick up a CD from one of the shops in Fortune or Pantip (other than an official Acer shop) or download an image off the net for obvious reasons. Norrad
I downloaded a copy of Vista and used the actual Key under the notebook when installing. Worked great for me. I couldn't stand all that extra crap that got installed when using the recovery disks.
surface
My only concern with that is you never know what files may have replaced and/or altered, leaving you with a potentially compromised system from the get-go.
