I suppose it could be a mis-directed email, but the Pattaya address rang a warning bell. I'm not in Pattaya and the only CAT I use is CAT telecom when I make a long distance call.

Just appears to be an email gone astray to me. I assume your name isn't Sutthida, and as you've already said you don't live in Pattaya or use CAT then you likely don't have contract number 4080303 with them either. Best filed under 'ignore and throw away'

if this is not your name, throw it away. you are neither obliged nor adviced to respond to any unsolicited mail. although i cannot confirm this to be scam, it stinks. be safe, forget it! .....

CAT Telecom Plc. would like to apologize you, if you have already paid for the service.

So what happened? Did they reply back to you?

If it is a spammer and you reply, your email address will go up in value as it has been 'verified'.

Look at the source headers, do the from/reply-to headers use a legitimate CAT domain ( e.g. [email protected])?

If one or the other is something like [email protected], it's a fake.

Here's some stuff from the header (I haven't replied to them yet):

X-SID-PRA: cat payment <[email protected]>

Return-Path: <[email protected]>

Received: from cat2call.com (www.cat2call.com [202.47.249.38])

Received-SPF: unknown (google.com: domain of [email protected] uses a mechanism not recognized by this client. unknown mechanisms: )) client-ip=202.47.249.38;

Authentication-Results: mx.google.com; spf=permerror (google.com: domain of [email protected] uses a mechanism not recognized by this client. unknown mechanisms: )) [email protected]

Received: from dbsc (media.cat.net.th [202.47.249.35] (may be forged))

by cat2call.com (8.12.10/8.12.10) with SMTP id m99A5DOm000442

From: cat payment <[email protected]>

It certainly looks authentic, but there are a few dodgy bits in there that I've highlighted in red.
