August 3, 200817 yr Hi Wandered into the 'new' revamped Speed3 Disco the other night and had a guided tour by the Architect (I must have looked sober! ). Operations move back to 'old' venue on 7th August and It looks like a fortune has been spent on the building. Its been completely remodeled with an increased capacity of 2,000 guests on 2 floor. No doubt it will be even LOADER!!! I understand a 'famous' Thai hip Hop band called Titanium are to appear on the 12th The temporary building further down the Soi opposite to the Hardrock, is to be leveled and turned into a car park. The all new restaurant at the front of Speed3 is called Victoria's (Hope Beckham does'nt turn up ) and will have both Thai and Chinese dishes. Yes it would be easier for me just to roll out of there rather than go @rse over t*t down the stairs. Although I would still have to negotiate the curbs, and, in my experience they can be life threatening. Come to think about it, the flat bits are pretty dodgy also, after a full day and night in your place serving me copius amounts of leo, then 7-11 selling me bottles of sang som. Although it seemed a good idea at the time. . John.....

No doubt it will be even LOADER!!! Dave(New at Ten, Surin) Hi Just thought I'd report my 'findings' now I have got round to visiting Speed3 now its open. I went last Saturday for a 'Farewell Thailand' booze up. The first thing that you notice is the sound system is far superior than 'Old Speed.' I remember having the unfortunate experience of going in there way back and the excessive noise(NOT MUSIC) and bass thumping out of the place was extremely uncomfortable! and thats coming from someone who has been to many, many crazy concerts/festivals back in the UK. As previously reported, its got a lot more space now and that fills up quickly. The staff waiting on tables seem to be numerous and easy to spot as they all have red&yellow waistcoats. The 'show' seems much better with a large number of dancers/singers&Thai rock/punk groups. Not sure about prices as I brought a bottle or three with me! The new restaurant seemed to be not busy at all, but looks good. There was some very friendly, beautiful distractions in there too Overall, a good night was had by all (I think) and I thought I'd never say this, but it might just be AS GOOD AS TAWAN DEANG!!!!!
