I am looking at a laptop which as part of its spec has..

BlueRay Disk Rom with Super Multi DVD+/-RW Double layer

Also an HDMI port.

Asking at the shop the guy was not certain what it would do so can it

Play a BlueRay disk and output through HDMI port to my TV HDMI port (TV is HD)

Will it play HDDVDs and output through HDMI to my TV..will the viewing be HD, or normal quality, or none.

Guess it will write/read normal DVDs

Suppose I should know the answer but would like confermation. I have an HDDVD player but not a BlueRay one.

Will it do anything else?
