Taxi Driver loses a hand following brutal knife attack in North Pattaya.

On Monday Night, medical staff at the Pattaya Memorial Hospital admitted a seriously injured Motorbike Taxi Driver who had been brutally attacked with a knife near Big C in North Pattaya. Khun Yanotai aged 31, who works at a rank in North Pattaya was fully conscious and able to explain the chain of events to Police Lieutenant Anuwat from Pattaya Police Station who was assigned to the case.

The victim, who sustained multiple knife wounds to his body and a severed left hand, claimed that he knew the attacker, known only as Khun A who had a long standing dispute with him. The attacker was known to be part of a teenage gang who would often be seen on Pattaya Beach.

The attacker was lying in wait as the victim drove to a local Tatoo Shop to see a friend, and without saying a word, Khun A proceeded to attack Khun Yanotai who was later transferred to Chonburi Hospital where Doctors confirmed that they would be unable to re-attach his severed limb. Police are now searching for Khun A as a matter of urgency.

Photographs of dismembered hand, and bleeding stump withheld for reasons of common decency and Thai Visa discretion.
