I have taken on a project that requires to do A LOT of uploading and downloading and with the not so fast net speeds here in bkk, I was thinking of jetting away someone for a couple of weeks to do the work. The only problem is I'm not sure where in South East Asia offer really FAST net acess? I'll probably rent a villa or something so that will resrict a lot of places, however I need to start searching somewhere.

Goto speedtest.net and look for report of various countries. My guess is Japan and Hong Kong.

Japan or Korea #1 followed very closely by either Hong Kong or Singapore.

As Dave said, but you may add Malaysia. They have some VERY good connections available in KL. They do however have some restrictions on the usage since it's a Muslim country.
