Scout666 Posted August 7, 2008 Share Posted August 7, 2008 Does anybody know what (if anything) has happened to www.ethailand.com in particular their email facilities? http://mail.ethailand.com/ continually (since Friday last) displays the error: "Could not locate remote server" and my email letters seeking an explanation addressed to webmaster, admin, info, @ethailand.com etc are returned with this error message: host ethailand-com.mr.outblaze.com [205.158.62.181]: 550 No thank you rejected: User unknown. In the ten plus years that I have had my email address ([email protected]) with ethailand, there have been several occasions when they have failed to perform but never for as long a period of time as this. Hence, my concern especially given that all and sundry around the globe know only my ethailand.com address. BTW the correct link is mail1.ethailand.com but in either case server not found. I am living in Germany (internet don't care about). First I was thinking my userid/pw was hijacked - I tried again and nothing happened except the website couldn't be found (IE 7). Then I tried to find out who will be resonsible for this site "eThailand" - and Alexa showing an address in Hongkong. Hongkong (SAR) belongs to China - maybe China stops too much websites ? However, this morning all that info has been removed. Guess it’s just time to move on as most of the info on the site are links to other locations. Outblaze parters with portal sites and host mail servers so website visitors can have email. It's possible that contacting outblaze.com and asking them about what happened to user 'eThailand' might help. I used to know the guy who started eThailand... but that was long ago (almost 10 years!). Sorry can't help you much. Losing mail must be frustrating.
