salty
A 5-0 win over a below strength ICT at Parkhead on the final day of the season. Celtic swarmed all over ICT from the off and Scepovic a surprise starter just got the touch to score after Van Dijk headed a corner back across goal. That was after 4 minutes and Johansen added no2 in 18 sweeping home after Izaguirre pulled it back to him. Caley got away again with a clear handball but it made no difference this time. In the 2nd half Scepovic again after great work by Forrest. Griffiths on a sub took 3 minutes to add the 4th with a trademark left foot into the corner and Commons another sub rifled it home near the end . It was a fitting end to go with the festival atmosphere as the champions celebrated another title win.
salty
Celtic have signed Dedryck Boyata from Manchester City on a 4 year deal. The 24 y/o Belgian has one cap as a sub in 2010. A direct replacement for Jason Denayer who is returning to Man City after a 1 year loan. Hopefully the big guy will prove to be a successful acquisition. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/32954918

CelticBhoy
Salty old son Great night last night. Enjoyed your company, as usual. Down to business tonight. What do you reckon for a score? I'm going with 3-0. Possibly more. I'll be sleeping. Look forward to your report in the morning.
CelticBhoy
2-0. Decent enough result. LG had a penalty saved. New Bhoy Boyota opened the scoring. Report Salty?
salty
Oh <deleted> CB as you well know not on TV. I actually had a decent nights sleep before returning from Bkk this morning. Hardly a scintillating display but it should do. I think we should be concerned about future opponents on this form. I anticipate a few nervy nights coming up but thankfully you will sleep peacefully while I stay up most of the night to provide a report.
salty
Assuming no cock up in Iceland we will have to face either Qarabag of Ajerbaijan or Rudar Pljevlja of Montenegro in 3rd Qualifying round. ( No me either) Ist leg at Home. I anticipate either being dangerous opponents.

But woke up to check the score and not conducive to further sleep when I saw they were 1-0 down. Once they scored much easier to relax. So we will be facing Qarabag in the 3rd qualifying round. Next week at home and then a long trip to Azerbaijan. After 2 games against Stjarnan I am even more convinced that these games are going to be very difficult and I would be more hopeful than confident. salty
Celtic 1 Qarabag 0 To my horror not on TV . Followed updates on BBC . As I anticipated no easy ride. A late goal Boyata 82minutes gives us a slender lead. Thankfully a clean sheet which gives us hope for the 2nd leg.
salty
An uninspired 2-0 win over Ross County in the opening League game. Griffiths after 3 minutes from a penalty. Silly foul by defender and he was lucky goalie failed to save. 2nd a good lay off from Mackay-Stevens to Johansen who finished in style. Terrible square ball from Boyata put a County forward in. Gordon charged out but was beaten to the ball. Conceded a stupid foul when the forward was being forced very wide. He was given yellow which was probably correct. Goalie is inclined to panic in situations like this like ICT semi final. With 2nd leg on Wednesday not very reassuring. Can only hope they were just going through the motions y'day. I hope I am wrong but I have a bad feeling about the return leg.
gerryBScot
Hail boys. Is tonight's big game, ko 11.30pm Thai time, being shown on any channels that can be accessed by streaming? I see CetlicTV has it - I'm happy to pay to watch it but anyone had any experience of watching it here in LOS? Any quality issues? Thoughts and suggestions welcome. salty
I have seen games on Celtic TV in sports bar from time to time and reception was good. That's what I will be doing tonight. "If" they get through I will be at home for final qualifying round.

"If" they get through I will be at home for final qualifying round. Thanks Salty. I've just found out that it is being shown on ESPN UK which is streamed by ILIKEHDTV so a three hour all channel pass will cost 40 baht or thereabouts;if that fails I'll need to shell out 12.99 GBP for the Celtic TV sub! Here's hoping. Glad we've got an 0-1 lead but would have preferred at least one more. Could be a tough one.
Popular Post salty
FK Qarabag 0 Celtic 0 Celtic got through to the final qualifying round by virtue of a scoreless draw. It was nerve wracking stuff but the 2 central defenders were immense and Gordon made an excellent save midway through the 1st half. As expected the pitch was poor but playable and much better than Hampden in the LC semi final. Celtic had a decent share of possession but it was only in the closing stages when Qarabag were stretched that they had chances of an away goal. Johansen was unable to get the ball under control and shot just wide past the on rushing keeper. Forrest on as a sub had a good chance and should have shot when well placed but his attempted pass to Griffiths hit a defender and was cleared. Qarabag seemed to be more composed on the ball and found each other with more comfort. But thankfully they were unable to create many decent chance. But with the narrow margin it did not make for a relaxing evening. So Celtic go forward to the final qualifying round which will be drawn on Friday . By getting through the Celts have at least guaranteed a Europa League place.
CelticBhoy
Not often you see Celtic play to a 0-0 scoreline, but on this occasion I will take it thank you. Looking forward to Friday's draw now. Keep us posted, Salty old son. Glasgow Derby on Sunday. Think I'll give Hanrahan's on Sukhumvit Soi 4 a go. 6:30pm kick off. Nice and early. Possibility I 'may' make work on Monday as it's not too late.

balo
There is a chance Celtic will draw Swedish side Malmo FF , I'm only mentioning this because then 2 Norwegian managers who know each other very well will meet again, should be interesting. CelticBhoy
Fine Glasgow Derby last night. An easy 2-0 win for the Bhoys. I saw very little of the game. Too busy drinking and talking. Hanrahan's is a decent wee pub. A small supporters club, but good craic. My head is louping today, but I made it to work .
salty
Very detailed report CB.? thankfully I am returning to the homeland tomorrow and will try to provide you with a few more details of upcoming games. This will help you to avoid these "excursions" to Soi 4 and the accompanying perils. Did not see the game myself due to sickness. Okay now thankfully. From perusing the papers it seems to have been a stroll for the Bhoys. Killie on Wednesday hope I can stay awake.
CelticBhoy
Hope you had a good flight home and are feeling better now, Salty old son. On your next visit we will go to Hanrahan's together. Hopefully we will catch a 'Tic game while there. Sorry about the useless report, but happy hour prices were cheap as chips and the banter was good so I was socialising rather than spectating . . . missed both goals too
