Deputy Interior Minister promises money to solve water supply problems here in Pattaya.

On Friday Afternoon at Pattaya City Hall, Thailand’s Deputy Interior Minister, Khun Supol and Interior Ministry Officials attended a meeting hosted by Khun Prachar, the Governor of Chonburi Province and Khun Itipon, the Mayor of Pattaya.

The meeting gave an opportunity for local government officials to inform the Deputy Minister of a number of issues which have arisen here in Pattaya which require funding from the Ministry to resolve. The main issue discussed at the meeting centered on water supplies for the City which are still not up to an acceptable standard according to the Mayor. Following a number of private discussions amongst officials, it was agreed that the Interior Ministry would send 200 Million Baht to the Pattaya Administration to solve the water supply problems here in Pattaya.

On Friday Evening, the Deputy Interior Minister made his way to Walking Street to familiarize himself with Pattaya’s late night entertainment industry and what it has to offer. His presence worried a number of bar owners who feared checks on their bars, however Khun Sompol stated he only wanted to look at what Walking Street had to offer and had not intention of checking any bars.

He was impressed with the atmosphere of the Street and commented on the new Walking Street LCD Screen at the Northern entrance to the Street which he hopes will impress tourists, both foreign and Thai, when it is eventually completed.
