Does True Have A Problem In Bkk?

Featured Replies

I can't get anywhere outside TH with True ADSL in BKK.

Using now Loxinfo dial-up but at a lousy speed of 20Kbps

Did somebody / something cut a cable again?

Problem started about 16:00 hrs this afternoon.

No problem with TRUE at Samut Prakarn, works fine. But the TV server was down for app. 30 min.!

If you don't have it, just download SamSpade 1.14 from TV Download for to check where is the weakpoint in your connection.

Cheers.

Thanks Reimar,

obviously my trying around while TV was down caused some problems at my end.

just got everything back to 'almost' normal by resetting router (which i did many times today without success) and running ipconfig /flushdns

now I'm back in business.

No idea what caused the problem because all our PCs had the same problem.

Maybe it's your Modem/Router! Check if the device is quite hot! If, use a small fan for cooling. That's what I do with with Modem/Router, Switches, Hardware Firewall and it helps a lot!

Cheers.

yes, I agree. it could be my router.

it has been very warm (not hot!) since day one (3 years ago) and never been switched off apart from the occasional resets.

I switched it off for about one hour today and now all is OK.

Guess I start looking for a new router.

I have the Billion BIPAC 5102G (with WiFi). Any idea what is available matching the specs of my current one and what is available for online purchase and can handle True ADSL?

I would buy an LevelOne because of the features he has. Cost is below THB 2,000 and works very well on TRUE. LevelOne is an German Design and uses German security standards.

Cheers.

If I buy a new modem/router which is not distributed by True, I will obviously have to do quite some set-up.

Is there any way I can extract ALL data currently on my router in the form of a .txt ...etc file or do I have to use screen shots for each set-up page or record everything in handwriting?

That's sure! Maybe you can export the configuration data but to restore the new modem need to have the same firmware.

Better is to use Screen shots to avoid any mistakes because all firmware differs a bit or even a lot from each other.

Anyway, ay probs, you can call me.

Cheers.
