Using Computer As Telephone

Featured Replies

Fortunately the days of dial-up internet access are ancient history for me- I've never had any occasion to plug into the modem jack on my laptop.

The laptop functions brilliantly as a speakerphone for Skype and other online applications, so I'm looking for a program that will let me use the laptop as a telephone to make and receive calls if I plug in to the phone line. This would free up a bit of desk space if I could get rid of the phone!

A search finds lots of hits, but I'm wondering if anyone has something like this already and can save me some time with a reccomendation? A freebie or shareware would be great, but I'm not above spending a few $$ for a good program that is highly recommended!

Sorry but don't think I can post links, so try Callstation by Impulse Technology.

Chris
