As usual I was reading BBC news this morning in my Thailand office...

and was stunned to find this "remark" under an inline video

about the Olympic ceremony.

What's it all about?

If it's the little girl singing , perhaps it's because she was miming to someone else's singing.

Just a thought !

Yup, its the girl singing but it seems to me not logical to "block" for that reason.

I didn't think it was anything sinister, simply that they don't have the rights to broadcast those images in all parts of the world.

I get the same and I live in Amsterdam it just means you cant get it outside the uk.

Same with the iplayer its only for the UK.

^ excatly the reason, I guess with a proxy you could...

I believe the BBC have a notice on their website saying that they are essentially a British public service and for financial reasons unable to provide web based media content to international viewers, or something to that effect. I think I saw it at the website for the Planet Earth series.

Correct, I read something like that awhile ago. Also saying funded by BRITISH TV LICENSE PAYERS for their entertainment, NOT OURS or other countries!!!!
