How To Save Youtube Clips?

Featured Replies

I have used this utility successfully in the past : http://keepvid.com/

However, after inserting the YouTube URL in the format requested, it currently just re-prompts entry of the URL and fails to carry out the save function. The site could be temporarily down. Is there any other way of saving YouTube vids? Thanks.

Sorry I don't have answer for you, but I do have the same question; how to download and save a youtube video. I have an Apple iMac computer.

I did a "File -> Save As..." action, and while an icon becomes shown on my Desktop, when I open the desktop icon, the file opens up with two screens of the video on the same page. Must be connected to internet, though, but I can play both video screens at the same time, and if the timing is perfectly in sync then I get more of a stereophonic effect, or if slightly out of sync, then an echo effect.

Sometimes, on one screen, a message comes up say, "Video no longer available..", but I can still play the video on the other screen. I tried pausing the playback, and then disconnecting from internet, but video won't play if disconnected.

search Google for "youtube download online" and you get zillions of opportunities...

I am using a download manager named IDM (Internet downlaod manager). Unfortunately at this time it only works with IE and you have to pay for it. But as far as I remember there's a trial period. You will not regret to have spent a few bucks for the paid version.

I use "Easy Video Downloader", simple and fast, works best for YouTube videos. Check the box to enable high quality YouTube video download, paste in the URL and select start. I was able to download, save and watch YouTube videos even when TOT had put a block on viewing YouTube videos directly.

I used the last one Download Savetopc. It allowed me three free downloads, which worked fine. Deleting the program and re-starting the trial didn't work. The five other sites listed above it didn't work either. So the first one obviously left some code on my machine to block re-trials. Any idea how to remove the block? Or any other Google/YouTube video-saving utilities which are free? Thanks.

If not done already, switch to mozilla firefox and install the add-on - downloadhelper !!!

Hi.

I second that. Works flawlessly - not only on YouTube but pretty much any site with any kind of embedded stuff, even mp3 or flash animations. I'm using it at home (Ubuntu Linux/Firefox 3.0.1 as well as at the office (Windows XP/Firefox 3.0 and Windows XP/Firefox 1.5.x).

Best regards

allows for conversion to formats other than FLV.

Am I doing something wrong? It seems like the video quality of just about every YouTube video is horrible. I download and convert to AVI or MP4, but the video is so blocky as to be almost unwatchable in any size larger than a postage stamp.

you tube downloader or real player ..with real player you can download everything and it converts to DVD
