August 17, 200817 yr Hi, We're retired from the UK and have been here for 2 years. Hubby is a retired farmer and agricultural engineer and I'm a retired horticulturalist. Both country folk. We haven't found anyone with similar interests in this part of Thailand and are getting a bit bored with our own company. We live in a rural community near Sattahip and it's beautiful, with mountains, lakes and farmland all around. We're always busy and in the process of learning Thai...... The language is a real barrier for us, but local people are very, very patient whilst we consult the tattiest dictionary on the planet.
