Woman bound and gagged during house robbery in the Pratamnuk area.

On Monday Night, Pattaya Police received an urgent call to attend a house located in Soi 6 off the Pratamnuk Road in Jomtien which had just been broken into. The owner of the house also reported that she was restrained when she spotted the robber and was left on the second floor of the house and was bound and gagged.

Police soon arrived and spoke with the house owner, Khun Jutatit aged 42 who is married to a foreigner who is currently out of the country. She explained that she was sleeping in her second floor bedroom and was awoken by a commotion on the ground floor.

She went to investigate and found a Thai Man, armed with a knife, rummaging through her possessions. He spotted Khun Jutatit and forcibly took her back to the bedroom and tied her up as he continued to take items from the house. He escaped with a digital camera, 2 mobile phones, 25,000 Baht in cash and a diamond ring worth 130,000 Baht.

The total value of the stolen goods is estimated at around 200,000 Baht. We understand that forensic evidence has been taken from the scene and Police would like us to warn all house owners in the Pratamnuk area at this time to ensure that your house is fully secured, especially at night, regardless of whether you go out or remain in the house.
