Using Skype Mobile

Featured Replies

I just bought an HTC Touch with wi-fi and am wondering about downloading Skype Mobile and making calls to other Skypers with it. Anyone here done that?

check out Fring.

I'm interested in the same. Checked out fring online, was hoping the FAQs might explain how it differs from Skype Mobile, but didn't see any explanations of that kind.

Fring doesn't differ in practical use, except it uses less resources, and it can connect to many other services at the same time as well. Works well with bluetooth headsets too.

Skype Mobile is a bit flaky in my HTC TyTNII.

It does not behave itself real well when you switch from a WiFi to a GPRS/EDGE connection. Sometimes it takes a couple of start/stops to get everything working again.
